JOB OPENING Dept. of Civil Engineering University of Toronto Departmental Computer Engineer Level Eng I or II The Dept. of Civil Engineering has an immediate opening for a Computing Engineer. The candidate will have primary responsibility for ensuring the operation of all Dept. research and teaching computing facilities, which currently includes one Sun 3/280S UNIX-based research machine and a PC Lab with 25 PCs and ATs. The candidate would also oversee installation and configuration of computer networks, make recommendations on the purchase and maintenance of computing hardware and software for research and teaching, and act as a Dept. resource person on computing. The candidate should have a Bachelor of Applied Science or Engineering in electrical Engineering or acceptable equivalent, with an intimate working familiarity of UNIX-based systems, MS-DOS-based systems and networking, and a willingness to learn.
