It seems like a reasonable idea to have all software that may be redistributed collected in one place to simplify obtaining this software. I have volunteered to be the person to do this. If anyone else would like to do it I'd be very happy to hear from you :-) I am looking for a couple of things. First, names of useful pieces of software to be collected. Second, on campus sources for that software. The idea is that if someone regularly gets TeX, say, they will give a copy to me and then the rest of the campus can come to me to get it (via tape or ftp or whatever). The things that I can think of offhand are: TeX, X windows, Gnu stuff (emacs, cc, bison etc), comp.sources archives, news software, Sun User Group tapes (if redistributeable), mh, elm, etc. So: 1) let me know names of useful things I may not have thought of 2) If you have source (preferably) or binaries of useful things let me know. 3) If you get updates to some of the biggies (e.g. TeX, X, gnu emacs) let me know your name. Thanks. Brian [If you think this is a bad or unworkable idea I want to hear from you as well] -- Brian Glendenning INTERNET - brian@radio.toronto.edu Radio Astronomy, U.
