Gabor Szilvassy is a recent landed immigrant (3 months) from Hungary who
wishes to pursue graduate studies in the areas of EXpert Systems and
Computer-Aided Design. He has done some graduate work in Hungary in these
areas but stopped somewhat short of a Ph.D. degree.
He would appreciate advice from anyone regarding the academic system here
(Computer Science and Engineering), and perhaps also regarding career paths.
I talked with him in the Department of Computer Science lounge for about half
and hour and he seemed to be quite friendly. He is concerned about his
lack of fluency in English, but I found him comprehensible, with some effort.
He would be especially interested in meeting anyone who speaks Hungarian and
is in Computer Science or Engineering.
