Can anyone out there provide a quickie description of how one goes about ordering software from the AT&T toolchest (or whatever it's called)? Also, how does one find out what's available, and prices? I presume UofT is registered with them already. Are items from the toolchest licensed on a per-CPU basis, or a site-wide basis? If the latter, presumably we can just find someone at UofT who has what we want, and get it from them. (HSC's research institute is covered by the UofT UNIX licenses.) Otherwise, we'll need to buy it ourselves. I expect that AT&T needs a billing address, so we'd probably need to register ourselves, even if UofT is already registered. Or would we? If things are licensed site-wide, what's the best way of finding out whether someone at UofT already has something? Ask AT&T? Post to ut.general? Something else? What we're actually looking for is a version of ksh for 4.3bsd. Would anyone happen to know whether the ksh you get from the toolchest runs under 4.3, or does it use any SystemV-isms (and would therefore require some tweaking to get it to run)? As usual, thanks in advance. Mark Bartelt UUCP: {utzoo, utgpu}!sickkids!mark Hospital for Sick Children BITNET: mark@sickkids.utoronto 598-6442 INTERNET: mark@sickkids.toronto.edu
