I have a number of items that are no longer of use to me, but they
might be to you. All are in top notch working condition.
1. Tall Tree Systems J-RAM 2 Memory expansion board. (I have three,
each with 2Mb; all are for sale). Asking Price: $650
This is a memory expansion board for regular PC/XT machines,
including clones. It is not suitable for Micro Channel
machines (but OK for PS/2 30 and 25). You can use it:
(a) As a RAM disk with 2Mb memory. You can re-boot without losing
data--unlike many other products.
(b) As a disk cache. You can cache the whole 2 Mb.
(c) As a combination of (a) and (b). You could have a 1 Mb RAM
drive and a 1 Mb cache, for example.
(d) You could take the 256K DRAM (150ns) chips out of the board
and use them to populate other boards. There are 72 chips on a
2 Mb J-RAM board. Street prices for these chips are $17, so 72
would cost you 17x72 = $1224 + tax.
2. Rixon Intelligent 1200 Baud External Modem. Asking: $85
Hayes compatible and also has its own command set.
3. Paradise Autoswitch EGA Colour Graphics video card. Asking: $125
This card automatically detects the kind of monitor the software
wants and behaves accordingly: MDA, CGA, or EGA. It has 256K memory
(the maximum).
