Is there anybody on campus (UTCS?) who has EPROM programming facilities which are available to users from another department? Preferably accessible to data transfer via the net, second choice Unix magtape, PC floppies a distant third, paper tape or manual data entry not acceptable. For the purposes of this query, what I'm really after is an EPROM blower which is officially available on a long-term basis, not "private" equipment that could be used once or twice informally. The question is not whether I can get an EPROM blown right now, but whether my shop can more-or-less rely on being able to get them blown non-commercially in future. (Actually I'm interested in informal availability as well, but formal is more important.) Exact type of EPROM involved is not critical so long as it's relatively modern (2764 or later); our immediate application doesn't need large size or high speed and we could choose the chip to fit the programmer. -- Welcome to Mars!
