The UTCS Unix Group is looking for an an experienced UNIX systems
programmer to become part of the team.  The work is going to be
interesting.  The successful candidate will be provided with ample
opportunity to track the leading edge.  This is an excellent
opportunity to learn more about networking and systems management.

The environment is quiet and comfortable, and the successful candidate 
will have a private office and phone.

Position:	UNIX Systems Programmer (SSP 2)
Department:	Computer Services
Salary Range:	$33,434 - 39,334 - 45,234
Funding:	BUDGET

Position Summary:
	
	Under the direction of the UNIX Systems Supervisor, the incumbent will
install, maintain, and customize new releases of UNIX operating systems and
UNIX subsystem software.  The incumbent will also be responsible for the
design, development, implementation and testing of UNIX operating system and
network software and for assiting in the general administration of UNIX 
computer systems.

Minimum Qualifications:
	Education:	University degree in Computer Science, Mathematics
			or Engineering.
	Experience:	Three years experience with large scale UNIX operating
			systems and networks on 'SUN' or similar computers.
			Experience with other operating systems will be an
			asset.
	Other:		Good verbal and written communication skills.
			Demonstrated analytical ability and organizational
			skills.
