As part of the CSC300 "Computers and Society" course, the movie "Quel
Numero" will be shown on Thursday Oct 19 in SF 1101 at 6:10pm. This is an
invitation to any other interested people to come and see it.

This is a movie about computerization in the workplace, made by a union
group in Quebec. (It is either subtitled in English or has a voice-over).
It is about the effect of introducing computers into the workplace and
touches on issues such a computer surveillance and dehumanization. It has
the reputation of being a very interesting movie. It might be somewhat of
an eye-openner for those of us who are accustomed to having the computers we
work with under our control: a look at how how the other 99% live (?) (The
movie is reputed to be not entirely favourable to the way in which computers
are being introduced into the workplace.)

It is slightly less than 90 minutes long. SF 1101 is quite a large room, so
there should be enough space for all who wish to see it. (But please be on
time if you come!).
