Here's the situation. We (the university) have two Intel 310 boxes. We also have a NSC 16032 (32016?) development board. Currently the 310 does not have an OS, but that should be arriving sometime soon. We do have Genix 4.1 for the 32016 but no hardware to run it in. A friend and I are thinking of building a system (and a Unix kernel) around the 310, but it also has the 16032 on the bus. Both processors would be capable of running processes, both run some portion of the kernel, etc. Has anything of this sort ever been done before? We are currently doing a literature search on straight multi-processor systems. But this is different. Any suggestions? We are planning on flagging the cpu type for a a.out file with special magic numbers. -- -:--:- David Herron; ARPA-> "ukma!david"@ANL-MCS or david%ukma.uucp@anl-mcs.arpa UUCP-> {ucbvax, unmvax, boulder, research}!anlams!ukma!david UUCP-> {mcvax!qtlon,vax135,mddc}!qusavx!ukma!david UUCP-> {A-Large-Portion-of-The-World}!cbosgd!ukma!david No stupid sayings (I can't think of one).
