[non-line] I'm considering building a home-brew special-purpose graphics box. I used to be an active hardware hobbiest, and I'd like to get back into it. I want my box to have reasonable resolution, and must have at least NTSC video output. While not in any way devoted to it, the NEC 7220 has come to my attention. If anyone has info, pointers, experience, etc, on the following, I'd really appreciate it. E-Mail or US Mail preferred. 1. Does NEC publish an application note for it? If they do, what is their address and what do I ask for? I already have a spec sheet and pinout. 2. How hard is it to build a video shift register and output circuit for this thing? Its "advertised" to generate 1K x 1K pixels...overkill for NTSC. Can I get analog RGB out of it? 3. What other "off-the-shelf" graphics controllers are out there? Simplicity is key. I don't have massive resources at my desposal. Thanks in advance. -- ========================================================= USENET: {decvax,ihnp4,cmcl2,vax135}!cornell!devvax!andy ARPA: andy%devvax@Cornell.arpa MAIL: Theory Center/265 Olin Hall "What do you mean Cornell University I watch too much Ithaca, NY 14853 TV?"
