[net.arch] Fault Tolerant Computers

spiros@clan.UUCP (Spiros Boucouris) (08/20/85)

I am not sure if this fits in this newsgroup but I cannot think of
any more suitable one. Any suggestions/flames welcomed.

I heard recently that a version of ARIES written in C
is available in the public domain. If this is the case I would like
to get a copy of it if somebody would mail it to me. Also I would like
to place a few open questions in an effort to get as wide a view of the subject
as possible. (Subject(s) : Fault tolerant systems, modeling of).

	1) Are there any more comparable programs in the public domain ?
If yes what, where, how etc???

	2) Do these programs, and the models from which they were developed
really represent the properties of the modeled systems or they just
fit the systems to probability theory ?

	3) Anything else that someone might suggest.

Mail answers to me or post to the net if they are of general interest.
I will summarize answers received by mail.
