[net.arch] Top ten in multiprocessing

eugene@ames.UUCP (Eugene Miya) (01/06/86)

It is the beginning of the year, and I have to update certain keywords in
my multiprocessor bibliography. If you are doing research in multiprocessing,
I am taking suggestions for the ten "required" readings for those starting to
study multiprocessing. Please send me your suggestions.
Previous suggestions included the papers by Wulf and Bell [1972] on C.mmp,
the Cm* papers, the ILLIAC IV papers [Slotnick [68] Bouknight [73?]],
the MPP [Batcher], and others. The 10 most popular papers get "required
reading" and the next 100 or so get "recommended" in their keyword lists.
The basis for selection should be 1st year grad student in EE or CS.
Send me an "adequate" incomplete citation or I will ask you for further
details. Changes will be made from the existing list. I close "nominations"
in two weeks. I'll post the 10 required readings in refer format at that
time.
