[net.music] DEADHEADS ETC>

bottom@katadn.DEC (04/03/85)

Well, well, well. MR ROSEN don't you like anybody? What's your beef with
deadheads and the dead? I grant you that the dead does not play the sort of
punkified drivel that you seem to find so profound, but that does not make
them or their fans less than human, just as the material that your favorites
play makes them anything more than human. I don't know where you get your
information but all of the deadheads that I know can't afford much of a car,
not withstanding a BMW. I find most deadheads to be the only people who held
to the dream that some people had in the sixties, that includes being free
enough to decide what hurts them not having big brother do it for them. You
obviously, like most people, gave that dream up if you ever had it and bought
the BMW and the three piece suit.

That they see themselves as "so unique" (I know that's a misconstruction)
that they MUST have their OWN group. Perhaps because, in reality, talk
of the Dead doesn't belong in a music group, since it doesn't qualify ...
(No, I won't say it.)

Such warm openmindedness, toleration of other people's tastes is the hallmark
of separatists in this newsgroup.

It also doesn't make one single group a candidate for its own subgroup. There
is nothing wrong with continuing to post to a music newsgroup shared by all
(well, almost all...).

Obviously. Thank you for pointing that out so well and so clearly.

Could have fooled me, from the ranting above you certainly seem like a
deadhead (and I don't mean "Deadhead"). Thank you so much for your
autocopulatory commentary.

I am glad that Rich's articles ALWAYS reflect his "warm openmindedness" and
tolerance of other peoples tastes and opinions. :-)

Actually, when I want an example of a snide, rude, intolerrant net article,
I look for one signed "Rich Rosen". [NO ;-)]

I apologise for MY intolerance.

You could have just looked at the article you were writing. [No :-)]

When an author refers to another person's taste as "punkified drivel", he
deserves what he gets. And so do you. You want "rude"? Fuck off, chump.
Your intolerance and double standards smell pretty bad. I don't need your
lame attempts at abuse.

Some apology.

It's certain you don't need my attempts. Your an expert yourself. :-)
