I am debating making a proposal to build the mythical 32 bit counter/clock chip (a battery backed up 32 bit counter that would keep un*x time without fancy conversions and contortions). To my knowledge, there aren't any vendors that build such a beast. In order to gather ammunition for my proposal I need answers for two questions. My questions are: 1. How much interest is there for such a chip? 2. What features would you like in it? Please direct mail to me rather than posting followups to the net, I may not see your replies.
