[net.arch] ETA-10

andy@Shasta.STANFORD.EDU (Andy Freeman) (10/16/86)

I saw a newspaper article about the ETA-10. It is supposedly
a multiprocessor (up to 10 CPUs) with CRAY-2 level performance
from each processor. It uses supercooled CMOS (cooling for
speed, CMOS for density - does this actually work?). The first
one (fewer than 10 processors) is going/gone to some Florida
university. (I thought Livermore or Los Alamos usually got
the first of anything interesting.)

Does anyone actually know anything about this machine? (I
don't trust newspapers with computer details other than color.)

I have a brochure that I believe FSU got in plans to
be the first to aquire the little beauty. I'll try and
	dig it up.

I can definitely say that the sales info exists, the machine
	well ........
