Here is a summary of replies I got re: ada under unix. If anyone else

Try looking at the University of York implementation. Also, the
ALS that Softech is building might fit the bill. It will be public
domain.

The NYU Ada/ED implementation isn't quite public domain but it is close.
It will run under VMS, 4.1 BSD Unix, (I believe USG ?.0 Unix as well),
Amdahl UTS and some random IBM opperating system, MVS I believe, and
probably CMS and a Cyber 8xx series machine with enough memory if
someone wanted to push it. The VMS version is available from NTIS
(National Technical Information (?) Service (?) ) for "cost" which
being government is about $300+. This is due to the terms of the
Army contract under which we did the original work. I have no idea how
up to date their current version since we are still tracking a moving
target. The other versions are kept relatively up to date here from our
VMS sources. For information on the others please contact (politely)

Last I heard, Ian Pyle at the University of York, York, Yorkshire (I jest
not) England was heading a team of ada'ites based on Unix. They were
`associated' with one of the official U.K. ada projects, so I dunno
how public their stuff will be, but in general U.K. Universities
have very (VERY) strict rules about use and abuse of Univerity facilities
(e.g. academic Un*x licences, time, letter quality printers .. )
for work from which financial gain may be made.

I believe there was a company called
Ada U.K., addressable care of Pyle at the
Comp. Sci. Dpt. at York.
