What is the commercial potential of Ada? We've heard all the claims of its universal appeal, but is anyone really using, or seriously planning to use, Ada? I'm writing some articles on Ada's future in the commercial market, and I'd like as many facts as possible. For instance, * If Ada were available today, would you (or your company) buy one for: - education (teaching or learning Ada) - evaluation of the language, or efficiency of implementations - use with acquired software - development of in-house applications - production of salable products * How about if Ada were available next year? Or in five years? * Would it matter if Ada were or weren't available on a new computer? * Is there really a market for Ada packages? (Consider piracy potential!) * Are you considering any other "modern" programming languages as alternatives to Ada? Any non-proprietary information you can supply will be most welcome.
