[] I need information about the Telesoft/Sun validated Ada compiler running under Unix, but if you have the same information for the compiler under ROS, please answer to. 1. Price. The representatives here (in the Netherlands) quote a price of UKpound 5000 (about US$ 6500); which compares strange with prices for other validated compilers (most about US$ 25000), and with the Telesoft Vax subset compiler: UKpound 8000 (US$ 10000) in December 1983. Is someone able to enlighten me? 2. Speed. How fast is it (compilation and execution). More specific, how many full-time Ada programmers will comfortably served by such a compiler on a Sun. Moreover, what do you expect if most of the programs will use floating-point. 3. Buggy? Is the compiler buggy, and if so, how fast are errors corrected. How is it with the Ada run-time system? How active is support from Telesoft? 4. Tasking. How are tasks handled. First, are they executed in round-robin fashion, or in a stacklike manner. Second, execute tasks until they cannot go any further, or is there some form of time-slicing between tasks. Answers by mail will be summarised on the net. Thanks in advance, I sign by .signature. -- dik t. winter centrum voor wiskunde en informatica postbus 4079 1009 AB amsterdam nederland UUCP: {decvax|seismo|philabs}!mcvax!turing!dik
