The original version is "Some Girls Have All the Luck", sung by ex-Deaf School
lead vocalist Bette Bright, written and produced by ex-Deaf Schooler Cliff
Langer. For those who don't remember, Deaf School resulted from a bunch of
English "art" school types discovering punk in 1978-79. Bette Bright went on
to do girl group covers, scoring a hit in England with "My Boyfriend's Back".
Her singing style on S.G.H.A.t.L. is an imitation of Diana Ross's Supremes
period style.
