One of the criticisms of the Ada language has been the efficiency (or lack there of) of the compilers for the language. I think the problem has been due to a lack of correspondence between the language and the processors that it was made to run on. With the new Ada '88, I surmise that this problem will have been solved and Ada '88 will run with utmost speed on IBM PC's and any other computer using an 8088 microprocessor.
