I have some hourly data that I want to analyze and plot using the S time series routines. Unfortunately I can't seem to specify the start,end & nper to get reasonable values for the series. The S manual indicates that 'ts' can be used for hourly data by specifying a start DAY and nper=24. However I can't see how to specify a particular date with the current 'ts' algorithm (1982.month). I can fake it with start=1 and nper=24 but I won't get good values through 'tsplot' (such as 1am through 12pm). Anyone have any experience using the time series routines on hourly data?
