[net.rec.ski] Copper Mountain

ucsa (10/28/82)

Wendy,
I tried sending you mail but I couldn't get through. I am going to
Copper Mountain also in March. I would appreciate any info you
receive. You can post it or send it to me at ihps3!ucsa
I have heard great things about Copper Mountain, that it has a great
mix of good skiing and good socializing.

As a long-time Colorado resident, I think Copper Mountain is one of the
finest areas here. If you are not a good skier, the many intermediate and
beginner trails offer excellent easy-going fun, and if you are an expert, the
B-lifts on the left side of the hill offer some of the most challenging
mogul skiing there is (please no flames about Pallivachini from you
A-basin freaks!)
In actual fact I am prejudiced against that whole area (from the Eisenhower
tunnel along I-70 to Vail) because in recent years it has turned from one
of the most scenic areas of the country into condo row. Incredible over-
commercialization, i.e. the word is out. If you are like me and want to
avoid the real tourist traps, try someplace like Wolf Creek or even
Telluride or Crested Butte. If you do have to go to condo row, however,
I do recommend Copper Mountain or A-Basin as the best areas.

Ready to recieve many flames from Dillon-lovers,

          GREG (hplabs!hao!woods or menlo70!hao!woods)
