[net.rec.ski] Copper Mountain Survey Results

wpw (11/11/82)

And now for the moment that you've all been waiting for ... the results
of my enquiry on skiing at Copper Mountain and the Club Med there.

First, as far as the Club Med, no one who responded had been there
although one person said that he heard that it was a lot of fun
although the people tended to be really into fashion. Another
person mentioned hearing that the lessions there were good.

Second, as far as the best month to go, most people seemed to think
that March, with its slightly warmer temperatures was best although
one person admitted running into 30-40 degree days in January.

Third, as far as the skiing, everyone agreed that there was skiing
for every level skier there. I was informed that if one is a good
skier they should go to the back part of Copper. People also
suggested other good ski areas near Copper - Keystone, Arapaho Basin,
Breckenridge, and Vail.

For general interest, I discovered that the cost of 1 week at Club Med
there is $1200 (including round-trip airfare from New York) ... a little
steep for me, I think I'll look elsewhere, but thanks everyone for
your inputs, maybe they'll help someone else decide as to whether or not
they want to vacation there.
