In response to the Hunter request: I have heard reports that Hunter has 14 some-odd lifts open and plenty of trails (I don't recall exactly, some 20 or so?) but the reports sounded good. I think they have recoved form the rain of early this week, and they should get a hefty amount from this weekends storm. I hope this helps. Barry Evans decvax!wivax!evans

I skiied at Hunter yesterday. They are advertising 6-50 inch base with 14 lifts and 28 trails open. I think there actually were about 10 lifts and 15-20 trails open. They were constantly making snow on the novice and intermediate runs so they were pretty good - very little ice or rocks, although it was getting icy at the end of the day. The expert runs were trecherous. They weren't making snow on them on Thursday and they were almost glare ice. All in all, it was probably the best skiing currently in the East. Wendy Weill
