In case anyone might care, I thought I'd pass along the Mammoth Mountain snow report as of 0800 this morning (Tuesday): Snow: 200 inch base, "packed powder with a trace of new snow" Temp: 12 degrees F Runs: Everything open except chairs 9, 19, 20, 21 They didn't say why the chairs were closed; except for 9 (which may be closed due to avalanche possibilities), they're all very low on the mountain. For those familiar with Mammoth, but who may have never seen 200" of snow there: that means that you have to ski *down* to enter chair 1 instead of sidstep up to it, and the snow cats are probably being kept busy pushing snow away from the top deck at the main lodge. Assuming there's normal snow fall for the rest of the season, this may well be a record breaking year. Without doubt, we'll see good skiing at Mammoth through most of June.
