[net.rec.ski] Skiing in the Southern Hemisphere

jj@rabbit.UUCP (06/22/83)

I've heard some comments (somewhere) that there is a reasonable amount of
good skiing in South America. While I doubt that I can afford to go this
year, I'm curious about the possibilities. Any comments? If you have
something of general interest, please post it.

Thank you

I suspect that after this heatwave in the northeast we'll have
an incredible snowstorm and Killington will re-open.

...just dreaming...

I remember reading a Ski magazine article earlier this year (maybe
it was at Alta, jj) about skiing in New Zealand. Something like
forty miles from the sea, and lots of untracked powder.

I hear there is also skiing in Hawaii.

Does anyone know if this is really true? And if so, what times of
the year?

In response to the last article discussing the heat wave here in
the Northeast...I hear the heat wave will not be over until
Around October! We've certainly been having bad skiing weather
here.
