[net.rec.ski] Skiing Mt. Hood / Mt. Bachelor

Questions for net.rec.ski folks in Oregon:
-   Is it true that Mt. Hood is opening on October 23rd for downhill skiing?
-   Could someone who has skiied Mt. Bachelor (sp?) send me / post a quick
    summary / recommendation / unrecommendation?  When it is opening?
