Mount Bachelor has excellent beginner -> intermediate skiing. There is a limited quantity of advanced skiing (with one exception), though. The area is targeted at "family" skiing, so you don't find the night-life there that some of the big resorts have. But the snow is usually dry and plentiful -- and that's what's important. The exception for advance skiers is the new lift to the top of Mount Bachelor. This will open this year, and will provide 360-degree (2-pi radians for you EE-types) skiing above timberline. The problem is that weather will prevent skiing up there most of the winter. This should become a popular spring-skiing spot -- you should be able to ski into June, most years. If Bhaskar would like some more information, walk down the hall -- I've got a trail map of Bachelor. Mark Freeman John Fluke Mfg. Co., Inc. {ssc-vax,lbl-csam,microsoft}!fluke!fudd
