A short report on a Christmas trip to Steamboat Springs...

A group of 8 of us here at HP in Fort Collins got a condo for 4 nights
in Steamboat at a place called The Ranch. Pretty good rates ($30.00 per
person per night), but the best deal is that they will take you anywhere
in their vans - to the slopes, the Safeway, out to dinner, etc. You park
your car and forget it until you leave.

The skiing was fabulous. It snowed for 4 days, and we had some really
fine powder skiing throughout the trip. The first day was really cold, though.
They have put 2 new chairs in, one of which makes it easier to get to
Storm Peak.

Crowds? Believe it or not, we skiied onto the lifts with no waits for 4 days!
I attribute this mainly to the difficulty involved in getting there.

One more thing - Bolle goggles are, by far, the best goggles I have ever worn.
On numerous occasions I had to wipe snow off them, and they did not fog. ALso,
there is no fooling around with an anti-fog cloth; the lens is coated. Would
appreciate any other experiences you skiiers out there have had with
these goggles.

Our next trip is to Jackson Hole. Good skiing!
