I'm thinking of making a spring ski trip to Colorado. How are conditions in the beginning of April at Copper Mtn, A-basin, Keystone and Breckenridge? How's the weather? I'd like to stay in Denver and drive out there for skiing if the weather is somewhat mellower than Jan. Are conditions much better at the end of March? In other words, do the conditions deteriorate quickly in the spring? And most importantly, do all these areas stay open through the beginning of April? Does anyone out there have knowledge of these area's approximate closing dates? Thanks in advance. Sharon Badian

Surely you jest, asking such a question! The answer, of course, is that it depends on how much snow we get. Last year, we had ass-deep powder in May. Two or three years previously, all we had in April was rocks to ski on. This year started out really good, but has tapered off recently. Think snow!
