I am interested in modifying an old pair of alpine skis for back-country mountaineering. I would like to know where to purchase a pair of cable bindings to mount on my skis. Also, is the composition of the base of alpine skis similar to cross country skis? I.e., will they hold the cross country wax the way cross country skis do?
