I got a pair of used Raichle ski boots, which have an "ankle angle" adjustment. I haven't found anybody who's really sure why the adjustment is there, so that's why I'm asking here. One theory is that when the ankles are bent more, the knees will also be bent more, assuming that your weight is in the same place. If that is the case, why is skiing on bent knees more desirable, and which position is better for me, an beginning average skier? Please mail responses directly to me, and say whether you would like the answers summarized & posted.
