Re: Spring skiing in Colorado 1. Conditions in the spring are highly variable. Generally March is excellent. April varies from year to year, but some of the best skiing I've done has been in late April. 2. Of the areas mentioned, Copper is my personal favorite. Keystone tends to be somewhat easier overall, attracting more family crowds. I'd avoid A-Basin unless you're an excellent skier. If you qualify, they have some of the toughest runs in Colorado, but not much for most intermediate skiers. 3. Closing dates vary with conditions, but none of the areas you mentioned close before mid-April, and A-Basin is often open until mid-May or later. Last year there was excellent skiing through the end of April. (A small area, Berthoud Pass, was open for the 4th of July. Hope this helps, John Schmidt HP - Ft.
