[net.rec.ski] Your favorite ski areas?

kiessig@idi.UUCP (Rick Kiessig) (09/04/84)

I'm sure it must have been discussed before, so I must have
missed it. I'm looking for information on people's favorite ski areas -
in California, the U.S., and even abroad. Information on the following
kinds of things seems like it would be useful:

	1. Length of their season
	2. Number and length and elevation drop of ski runs
	3. Variety of ski runs (number at each ability level)
	4. Lift ticket costs
	5. Local lodging availability and cost (phone #?)
	6. Something about the area and after-hours socializing
	7. Typical weather and the best time of year to go there
(crowds might be a factor here, too)
	8. Typical length of lift lines on weekends and during the week
	9. Facilities available at the slopes
	10. How much crowding is there on the slopes

I'm sure I've forgotten some things. Feel free to add in anything
else you think might be of value. MAIL responses to me, and I'll
summarize. I'm particularly interested in the following areas, as
well as any others you might have a particular fondness for.

	1. Lake Tahoe area, CA
	2. Mammoth area, CA
	3. Snowbird and environs, UT
	4. Copper Mtn., Vail and environs, CO
	5. Aspen, CO
	6. Switzerland
	7. Norway
	8. Sweden

If there's something else that's already been posted on this,
if someone could mail it to me, or summarize ot for me, I'll include
it with anything new I get.
