I am planning a skiing vacation in Wyoming this winter. I would like to combine downhill skiing at Jackson Hole (throwing in some telemarking off the lifts as well) with cross-country skiing at Yellowstone or possibly the Tetons. I am an expert downhill skier, a novice cross-country skier, and an intermediate telemarker (those downhill skills come in useful on skinny skis...) I've never really skied deep powder, and the Jackson Hole part of the trip is to be my initiation. I would appreciate any advice anyone might have about this trip -- its feasibility, places to stay at Jackson Hole, a good time of the year to go, the possiblities for dips in hot springs at Yellowstone, etc. My currents plan includesnow-camping at Yellowstone, but I wouldn't want to do that if the temeratures are likely to drop below zero. Are there any cabins there that one can ski to and stay in? Has anyone out there ever skied Yellowstone? Please mail your replies to allegra!research!hania . Thanks. Hania Gajewska
