I have seen requests similar to this before, but I know how skiers love to talk about their trips, so here goes... A small group (4-6) of us Eastern skiers are going to head out west sometime between January and April (we're flexible at this point) for a ski vacation. The basic question is where to go. That is, what resort offers the best combination of skiing and apres skiing? The group is made up of intermediate skiers, where intermediate means we can ski the easiest black diamond slopes at a place like Killington, but most of us could not tackle the toughest slopes there. Personally, I have skied a week at Heavenly Valley, and I thought Tahoe had a good mix of skiing and other activity. I have heard that Utah and Colorado resorts have better snow than Tahoe (snow that seemed excellent to me). The difference in total cost of a vacation at the various resorts would also be a factor. Anyway, any opinions, either general or specific would be appreciated If you'd like to recommend a resort, lodging , etc feel free to do so. Please mail any replies to me. Thanks in advance. Check out Sun Valley, Idaho. Hardly any trees. Great snow. Excellent lodging. Check it out.
