Oregon Ski Report For you guys wandering what the skiing is like at the Orgeon ski areas, here is an update for thurs Dec. 16. There are four areas operating in the state at this time. For Timberline lodge on Mt. Hood the snow is 8" of new on a 62" packed powder base. They have had about 14" of new this last week. Many lifts are closed due to high winds. They are open every day with one lift open for night skiing wends through sunday. Mt Hood Meadows ski area got a real dump in the last 24 hours, They have 17" of new snow on a 59" base. The snow is new powder on a packed powder base. The beginner runs have been machined groomed. I skied there this last weekend and it was great. The face of yellow and the HRM runs were not open yet, and Texas is on weather standby. Mt Batchelor currently has 26 F weather. They have 14" of new on a 70" base. They are open 9-4 every day but monday. The surface is new snow over a hard packed base. The Cross Country conditions are excellent and they have just opened a new XC circuit. Ski Bowl/Multipor is open Sat and Sun with 1" new on a 18" base.

Oregon Ski Report For you guys wandering what the skiing is like at the Orgeon ski areas, here is the report for fri Jan 7. There are three areas operating in the state at this time. The conditions are not good due to a large rain storm which has come in off the pacific. Besides dumping a lot of moisture, it has raised the freezing level way up. For Timberline lodge on Mt. Hood the snow is 16" of new on a 108" base. The conditions are 32 F with mixed rain and snow. All lifts are open except Palmer (it wont open till June). They are open every day with two lifts open for night skiing wends through sunday. Mt Hood Meadows ski area is overcast at 40 deg and raining. They have 8" of new snow on a 88" base. The beginner runs have been machined groomed. I skied there this last weekend and it was great. All lifts are open for weekend skiing (red, blue, daisy and buttercup mid-week). HRM was in excellent shape last weekend, but Heather Canyon was closed. Texas has also been open and groomed. Mt Batchelor currently has 30 F and snow. They have 7" of new on a 90" base. They are open 9-4 every day but Monday. The Cross Country conditions are open. Ski Bowl/Multipor is closed due to rain, with 1" new on a 62" base.

Oregon Ski Report For you guys wandering what the skiing is like in Orgeon these are the conditions on wends jan 19 at 6:00. There has been some new snow this week but not a lot. With a little luck it will keep snowing steadly this week. It is overcast or snowing at all the ski areas currently and snow showers are forcast for today and tomorrow. At Timberline lodge in Goverment camp it is 26 deg and snowing lightly. the winds are 0-5 mph. The runs are packed powder with 6"new in the last 24hr for a 108" total. All lifts are open except Palmer. They are open every day with two lifts open for night skiing wends through sunday. The Mt Hood Meadows ski area is at 30F with light winds They have had 4" new in the lst 24hr giving an 85" base. The runs are packed powder. All lifts but yellow and texas are open for day skiing and daisy, blue and yellow after dark. All runs except Heather Canyon are scheduled for this weekend. Mt Batchelor currently is overcast at 23 deg and no wind. They have a 96" base including 6" new in the last 24 hr period. The runs are discribed as "Fast packed powder". They are open 9-4 every day but Monday. The Cross Country track is open for 25km of trails. Ski Bowl/Multipor is open with 30 deg and a 20" base including 1 1/2" of new. The upper bowl is on weather standby. Multipor is open on the weekend.

Oregon Ski Report In Oregon it is snowing at all the ski areas currently and snow showers are forcast for today Wends, Jan 26, 1983. With the new storm moving in off the pacific we expect it to keep snowing for several days. The Mt Hood Meadows ski area reports it is snowing lightly at 30 F with light winds. They have had 5" of new snow in the last day giving a total of 100". The snow condition is a little new on packed powder. All lifts but yellow and texas are open for day skiing and daisy, blue and yellow after dark. All runs except Heather Canyon are scheduled for this weekend. At Timberline lodge ski area it is 28 deg and snowing lightly. The winds are 10-15 mph out of the east. The runs are packed powder with 3" of new in the last day giving a 118" total. All lifts are open except Palmer although the Magic Mile is on weather stand-bu. They are open every day with Pouci and Victoria station open for night skiing Wends through Sunday. Mt Batchelor reports a 107" base including 3" new in the last 24 hr period. They have currently overcast at 29 deg and light to moderate winds with light snow. The runs are discribed as "new over packed powder". They are open 9-4 every day but Monday. The Cross Country track is open for 25km of trails. They recomend violet wax for those "skinny skiis". Ski Bowl/Multipor is 29 F and snowing lightly. They have a 24" base with 1" of new in the last day. They are open for day skiing during the week with both bowls and the Multipor runs open. They will be open until 9:00PM on the weekend.

Oregon Ski Report The winds have shifted and the moisture which was going to California is now coming in farther north. This is giving us more normal rain (and snow) patterns. That we are getting some precipitation should be obvious by comparing this weeks totals with last week. Mt Hood Meadows reports it is snowing heavily. Their temp is 30 deg with the winds light. There are 25 inches of new snow giving a total of 170" (up 34 " from last week). The runs are soft packed with a few machine groomed. Only Red, Daisy, and blue are open today (Texas weather permitting). All runs are scheduled for this weekend, but the weather will probably close Heather Canyon and maybe Texas. Meadows goes on it's spring schedule next week. They will be open days only Wends and Thurs, and days and nights Fri, Sat, and Sun. At Timberline lodge ski area it is snowing and 20 F with 25mph winds. The runs are groomed with 11 inches in the last day for a 200" total. This an increase of 35 inches in the last week. Only Victoria Station and Poochie are open but Blossom may open later. Mt Bachelor is reporting a 176" base which includes 20 inches of new. This is a weeks accumulation of 32 inches. They are currently at 25 deg and and snowing lightly with overcast skies. There are nine lifts open from 9:30 to 4:30. The snow condition is new with some runs machine groomed. The Cross Country track is open with 25km of trails. Ski Bowl/Multipor is closed for the season.

Hood Meadows: 38" base, open fri-sun this week, then wed-sun starting Nov. 21 Multopor-Ski Bowl: (now called Blue Mntn?) 24" at lodge, will open Nov. 10 Mt.
