[What was this line for again?] Last season I purchased a pair of Epoke 900 XC skis with the "waxless" mica base. (The price was right; it seemed like a good idea at the time.) The problem is, they grip so well, that they're either so slow as to be real boring, or they ice up and won't go at all. Has anyone out there had any experience waxing these supposedly waxless skis? Will I need both glide and grip waxes? If so, how often will the glide wax need to be refreshed? I like the "feel" of these skis so I'd hate to trash them. Thanks in advance. I'd recommend that you hot wax the glide portion (the part without the pattern)
of the ski with a good glide wax. The particular wax will depend on the
conditions in your area. If you are not sure which wax to use ask at a local
XC Ski shop.
I applied this treatment to my waxless skis and it worked wonders!
