this will be my last posting for several months, ski season is over for
me.
went to sierra ski ranch right after the big storm, weather:
clear and sunny, day temp was 30 F, 36 inches new, heavy wet snow,
sank in only 4-6 inches at best, density was around .20, purple
stick if you were x-cing, 36 inch base, avalanche danger very high.
No wind. crowded, some lines up to 30 minutes.
i succeeded in hitting a tree breaking a ski, one leg, an arm, oops!
cut that one too close. thank god that vnews only really needs
two fingers. no wise cracks, please!
