== I was just up in Tahoe this last weekend (Sat 21 & Sun 22 Dec). I skied Alpine Meadows on Saturday and Squaw Valley Sunday. The highs are in the 50's and the lows in the 20's at the moment, and there has been no snow for at least two weeks (maybe 3). As you might imagine, this has caused spring-like conditions, varying from hard-pack to slush (with nothing in between!). Squaw has a lot of obstacles showing, Alpine isn't so bad. I was at Sierra Ski Ranch the previous Sunday (15Dec), and it is also getting skied out. All well-travelled runs are hard to hold an edge on. With the Christmas crowds, the conditions will deteriorate until there is more snowfall. I'm not going up again until there is significant new snow (more than a foot). Sorry to be so pessimistic - maybe I'm just a perfectionist! Also I don't like skiing over rocks :-). patrick
