Well, we actually got a dozen netters together at a ski trip! My condo consisted of flamers such as Erik Fair, Andy Beals (bandy), Saul Wold, Ed Gould, Don Coleman, and assorted others off the net (Peter Capek from IBM) and last momenters like Jean Wood from DEC and Carole Gifford from Tymnet. My sincere apologies to Mark Callow when we ran out of room. I guess I should mention Mark Seiden and "Ken," since I've gone this far. All in the name of Usenix 1986! Capek and Fair were probably the best skiers on the bunch. I enjoyed downhilling with everybody. Bandy and I were the only X-Cers. But I only went one day [how often do I go downhill in CO? I typically go X-C, but this time it was on NASA]. Bandy and I were a bit mismatched as X-Cers, but we had a good time at Loveland and Vail passes. Lots of rocks both downhill and X-C. The trip visited: Copper, Keystone, Brekenridge, A-basin, Vail and Beaver. I skied a tiny bit of powder and trees at Vail. Moguls elsewhere. I photographed portions of things and people: group shots, scenery, Erik jumping, groups of people skiing. Fair and Wold skiied NASTAR. It snowed very lightly during the conference and Carole and I left Jean as the flakes again began to fall. We could have had some problem people, but everyone was quite well behaved and we had a really neat time. I recommend all of the above as excellent ski mates to have a good time with. We even moderated talking about business. While skiing at Vail we ran into other after-Conference skiers. Things were tight because of "special" requests, but everybody bent with the wind. Thanks go to Ron Thisted for publishing his condo to the net.
