I am opposed to the splitting of net.lang.c -- with only a handful of articles on the average day, I see no need to separate them. Also, subgroups would only be identical in their first three characters, so such long names are both hard to type and inconvenient to read. Before this gets out of hand in net.lang.c, I suggest ALL future discussion take place in net.news.group

How about some structure for this news group? For example :- net.lang.c.wanted net.lang.c.programming net.lang.c.implementation etc. Obviously, these overlap and inter-relate but, as with other news groups, common material could be sent to several subgroups. Maybe this is a European problem, but we get this group in vast undifferentiated dollops of 30 to 40 articles at a time. Greg Michaelson, Computer Science Dept., Heriot-Watt U., Edinburgh
