[net.lang.c] Does memory allocation work on Xenix???

cdshaw@watmum.UUCP (Chris Shaw) (07/19/85)

I hand-translated a fairly large FORTRAN package to C recently, and I rather
liberally used memory allocation primitives to improve the functionality
of the package. The package works perfectly well on a 4.2 bsd 780 system.

Now I'm trying to get this stuff ported to Xenix on a 286-based Intel 310
box, and it dies a vicious, horrible death whenever it runs across callocs
a significant number of times.

I'm using large model code, and I'm told we have a slightly old version
of the compiler.

The question is...... has ANYbody got memory allocation to work on a Xenix box,
using LARGE model, and if so... what version are you using??? Any other info
you might have will be gladly accepted.

Please PLEASE *PLEASE* answer if you have any experience in this area... It's
vital (to me, anyway.. it's driving me nuts) that this problem is solved
fairly soon.

Thank-you very much ! (in advance)
