Before I go write one myself, does anyone out there have a set of routines to test malloc/free implementations? (ideally realloc too). I'm looking for something that allocates and frees various sized pieces of memory in pseudo-random order. It should also write some sort of pattern into allocated memory and check to be sure that nothing is getting smashed. If you post, please also reply to me by mail. I have trouble keeping up with all the news. Yours for more reliable software ... If yer on a Sun, check the man page for malloc...there exists a debugging suite in their debugging C-libraries. "For almost a quarter of a century..."
