I am the SOB who has been cluttering up net.micro with CoCo-80 queries and opinions. Having pretty well buttoned up the decision to go buy one, I will shift some attention to here. I intend to do much more than games on the box, but after seveal weeks of taking my 8-yr-old boy to the local arcade, we are both incurably hooked. Plus I will be writing some games of my own (or at least trying!). Do people tend to swap their own games here? Via net.sources? Some items: 1) I agree that Atari was way overdue for a real analog 360 joystick. The Radio Schack coco uses these, and their ripoff of Missile Command ("Polaris") is very faithful & very complete. It's one of my arcade favorites; I prefer stick to trackball anyway. Old Atari version only had one missile base; TRS has all three. 2) Could anyone recommend which is the best PacMan ripoff for the CoCo? Independents include Ghost Gobbler & Scarf Man (scarfs up the bait instead of packing it away?). Shack's "Mega Bug" is terrific, but quite different and costs $35. 3) Anyone out there write your own games (Atari 800 owners, etc)? Care to swap sources, discuss your concepts, or just BRAG a little? Or discuss nuts & bolts (how best to animate a running player, move a circle, etc)? Hoping to enjoy this newsgroup -- mike knudsen
