Just received a Christmas catalog from Sears this weekend (11/20/82).
On the back 'cover' is a full page ad for the Atari 5200 for $199.99.
They don't say anything about a 'sale' so I assume this to be their
standard price. They list as game cartridges available:
PacMan $39.99
Missile Command $34.99
Galaxian $39.99
Star Raiders $39.99
Space Invaders $34.99
Soccer $34.99
At the bottom of the ad is this:
* Coming in 1983 *
look for Trac Ball and Voice Synthesizer accessories *plus* a special
adapter that will allow all VCS game cartridges to be played on the
new Atari 5200
I went to the local Sears outlet and they had none in the store, didn't
know when, if ever, they would have any in the store, but said it would
have to be ordered through the catalog.
This is the lowest price I've yet seen for the new system. The local
Fred Meyer department store had the Colecovision unit on sale recently
for $189.
