The December 1982 issue of IEEE Spectrum contains a special
report on video games. Among the things discussed is some
video game history.
It seems that the founders of Atari (Nolan Bushnell, Allan
Alcorn, and Joe Keenan) left that company with an agreement
not to work on video games for five years. That contract
expires in October 1983.
According to Mr. Alcorn: "There will be a new video game
company formed with certain people. We're thinking of
calling it Irata, which is Atari spelled backwards."
