As far as I know, the 5200 can use the 400's accessories with no problems (and probably the ROMs too). There are at least two trackballs available in the stores here (Toronto Canada) so they're bound to be available in the US. Wico makes one; so does (I think) TG Products. As for the non-centering joysticks, there are many centering ones usable on the 5200. Has anyone successfully used 5200 cartridge ROMs in a 400 or vice versa?

On the contrary, the 5200 cannot use any of the 400 accessories! The controller plugs on the 5200 are different than the 400, 800 and 2600. The more sophisticated joystick along with 2 sets of fire buttons, 3 control buttons and the 12 key pad, required more pins. I think that the 5200 plug is a "standard" type, used elsewhere, but don't quote me. The Wico joysticks and trak-ball are compatible with the 400, 800 and 2600.
