Well, the local tavern just recently brought in Dragon's Lair, so I tried it out. Wotta a quarter-eater! After blanching slightly at the 50-cent price, I put a couple in, then watched as my Dirk the Daring got killed 5 times in short order... After six games, it's still not clear whether the joystick actually works, or is just there to fool the dummies. It sure fooled me! On a couple of occasions, it seemed that I had about 1/2 second to decipher the picture and decide on the direction to move, and then the joystick did appear to make a difference - as to whether I died immediately or 4 seconds later. The pictures weren't bad, but the pace made Saturday morning cartoons seem really laid back. This is one machine I'm going to stay away from - when I lose so quickly, I like to know why... stan the leprechaun hacker

I don't see what you mean when you say that you aren't going to see any profressional play by anyone over 16. There are plenty of video game professionals around over 16, I think. I would be interested to hear about the age groups subscribed to this newsgroup as well as how many of you are arcade addicts. I am 17 and am going through an addictive phase right now. -Ron (..decvax!genrad!mit-eddie!ronnie) or (RONNIE@MIT-MC.ARPA [arpanet])
