Has anyone out there tried the "bug" in TEMPEST? I have heard that if you survive the 8th screen and collect the 188,000 point bonus, you can trick the machine into giving you 40 free games (and other bizarre things). A friend showed me a magazine article which claimed that you must finish that screen, and then carefully shoot at the green spikes (worth one point each shot) until the last two digits of your score were a certain value. Some values yield free games, others let you edit the high score file, etc. Has anyone tried this yet? Does anyone have the full listing of two digit scores and the resulting action? Does anyone know of a machine in the Holmdel area that still uses the old ROM's? (Apparantly Atari has distributed new firmware with a bug fix.) I really couldn't care less about winning 40 free games, but I'd love to see the look on someone's face when they walk up to a machine that has 40 free credits on it!
